Dan Millman (Scott Mechlowicz), a young college gymnast who doesn't know what to do with his life is going through the daily motions. He meets a man (Nick Nolte) who is truly an inspiration to him. He helps guide Dan through his dreams and aspirations. They train hard physically as well. This leads to the strengthening of Dan and his inner strength as a man. Dan realizes all he wants and is capable of as he is growing into a better man and person. But when a serious injury happens, Dan finds he has to relearn and struggle to go back to the place where he was.
