When Rose (Helen Mirren) and Mikey (Cuba Gooding Jr.) embark on lives of being assassins, they know what they must do. They work for a major crime boss (Stephen Dorff) and do his bidding. But things change when their boss decides he wants his pregnant wife (Vanessa Ferlito) murdered. Rose goes against all codes when she decides to spare the woman's life and that of her unborn child. Mikey knows that Rose's choice has changed their lives forever. They take to a life on the run with their newly adopted family. But when Rose starts dying of cancer, she only pours more attention into this new family. The years pass and they live as a happy family until the ex boss discovers his wife and child aren't dead. They must again struggle to survive.
