Dr. Eugene Sands (David Duchovny) was a surgeon -- until drugs caused him to lose his medical license. Now, a man has been shot at a nightclub, and Sands (who happens to be there) saves his life -- in front of infamous criminal Raymond Blossom (Timothy Hutton). Impressed, Blossom offers Sands employment; Sands accepts. It's not long, however, before Sands witnesses something he shouldn't and is struggling to save his own life.
